Many people have questions about ropes course construction costs. While high ropes course construction costs are more than low ropes course construction costs, both can vary widely based on a number of factors. Whether you are going to build your own ropes course or have a commercial ropes course builder, like CDI, do the work for you, building a ropes course takes planning and specialized knowledge of industry standards and accepted building practices to ensure your course is functional, strong, and low-risk.
CDI designs ropes courses, builds ropes courses, constructs ropes courses, installs ropes courses. We employ a team of certified professionals to inspect and maintain ropes courses, and our experienced educators are ready to train your staff to operate your new ropes course. Our knowledgeable team selects and provides quality equipment for ropes courses that all meet or exceed the industry ACCT Standards.
Our courses can be installed on trees for an inexpensive and natural feel, or on utility poles, which require less maintenance. Choose from static or dynamic belay systems (or a hybrid of the two), or consider integrating smart belay systems such as interconnected or continuous life safety systems for reduced risk and increased thru-put. Select from a variety of course access methods, including nets, vertical climbs, or staircases.
A Ropes Course is a series of mentally and/or physically challenging events traditionally built from cable, rope, and wood. Elements can be low to the ground or placed at height between trees and/or poles where some form of personal fall protection provided (such as a rope systems or smart belay). Participants navigate or solve each event either individually or as a group, generally with the goal of building self-confidence and developing group cohesion.
The first ropes courses were originally designed to mimic the team and confidence-building benefits observed in naval crews as they navigated the masts and riggings of their ships. Since then, thanks to the inventiveness and vision of many great experiential educators, courses can be found at camps, therapeutic centers, schools, and military bases throughout the world.
CDI also builds challenge courses, zip lines, adventure parks, low ropes courses and high ropes courses for commercial operations as well as schools, camps, universities, government agencies, and the military. We do not build private backyard ropes courses.
