Experience You Can Verify CDI’s story began in 1980, when founder Jim Wall built his first ropes course and zip line at San Lee Park in Sanford, North Carolina. His philosophy was simple: build good courses and build lasting relationships with the people who operate them. In 1987, Jim founded Walls Outdoor Associates. Along with his wife and business partner, Catherine Taite. the company later became Challenge Design Innovations. Today, CDI remains family-owned and is led by Corey Wall. Our team has spent decades working hands-on with challenge courses, zip lines, and aerial adventure parks, climbing walls, tactical training course, and more. CDI Team members have also contributed to the development of industry standards through ACCT International. CDI designs and builds to applicable ANSI/ACCT standards and has maintained ACCT International accreditation (formerly Association for Challenge Course Technology) for more than 26 years.
